Nobody can deny that Salzburg is a really wonderful city. Whether in the course of a business trip or a cultural weekend, Salzburg's winding streets and beautiful facades will stay in your memory forever. In order to be able to take a piece of Salzburg home with you, here are some tips on where to buy the most memorable souvenirs in Mozart's city. Whether culinary delicacies or individual designer pieces, here there is something for everyone! My personal favourites are the only true Salzburg “Mozartkugeln” from the Fürst Konditorei, which simply taste heavenly and are great as a small souvenir for friends and family. Definitely worth a visit is the museum shop of the Museum der Moderne on the Mönchsberg, one of Salzburg's local mountains. Here you can not only buy exciting art books and cool gadgets, but also an exhibition poster or two, which are the ideal decoration for your own four walls back home. For anyone who values true craftsmanship, I recommend a handmade umbrella from the Kirchtag umbrella factory. Because this souvenir not only keeps you dry when the steady rain for which Salzburg is famous begins, but will also give you decades of pleasure!

Culinary delights to take home from Salzburg

Salzburg is famous for its round “Mozartkugeln”, but also Sporer's punch or the best coffee in the city from the 220 Grad Kaffee are great souvenirs that will conjure up the flair of Salzburg! If I had to decide on one thing, then it would be a bag of silken candy from the Holzermayr sweet shop, also simply known as "Zuckerlmayr” in Salzburg .

Art and design to take home

How multifaceted Salzburg's art and culture scene really is can be read about here. Therefore it is not surprising that there is a lot going on as far as souvenirs are concerned. If you value sustainability, you'll certainly find it at the Weltladen in Linzergasse! Almost right next to it you will find probably the coolest record shop in Salzburg. And just a few steps around the corner is the much-loved Kamer - the perfect mix of concept store and relaxing coffee house.

Salzburg memories made of cloth

Traditional costume is not restricted to special holidays in Salzburg, but is still considered to be everyday clothing. Therefore it is not surprising that when you stroll through the old town, you will see Salzburg locals everywhere in beautiful “Dirndl” dresses and lederhosen. Anyone who is interested in contemporary and affordable traditional dress is in good hands at Hanna Trachten. A great selection of hand-woven and printed traditional fabrics and porcelain can be found in Heimatwerk. And if you want to escape from Salzburg’s heavy rain in style, you should pay a visit to the Kirchtag umbrella factory in the Getreidegasse.

One which also has lots of surprises in store for families.
