Every Thursday you can experience a very special gourmet evening at the Kunsthistorisches Museum. In what is probably the "most beautiful dining room of Vienna" you can also enjoy a guided tour through one of the current exhibitions or the museum's picture gallery in combination with the dinner. My insider tip for special occasions!
On Wednesday evenings from October to June, the Natural History Museum regularly offers an evening of enjoyment for all fish lovers, when a delicious mussel dinner is served. A cultural highlight is the guided tour "Over the rooftops of Vienna", where you can experience a walk through the museum up to the roof with a unique view of Vienna's breathtaking city centre.
The culinary delights here are just as straightforward as the art objects in the Museum of Applied Art itself. My recommendation for a small snack during the day is the Salonplafond's own open sandwiches, as well as the à la carte menu in the evening with a Viennese twist. The restaurant impresses me again and again with its stylish interior and is one of my absolute favourite restaurants.
Among the culinary highlights are the DO & CO sushi menu during the day and delicious pastries with coffee from K & K Hofzuckerbäckerei Demel in the afternoon. In the evening you can dine here à la carte, just like an emperor. The menu is very international and with a focus on numerous fish dishes. In my opinion, the most elegant of all the museum restaurants.
Entertainment, passionate love stories, famous tales or gripping family dramas - this year Vienna is hosting a lot of musicals that generate great emotions and are guaranteed to give you goosebumps.
