Viennese Fashion & Accessories

For me the highest quality boutique in Vienna for artful avant-garde and artisanal fashion, created by Stefanie Hofer in her atelier and stylishly complemented by international designer wear. Thank to the new interior concept, the showroom and atelier merge into one and form a perfect stage for Viennese craftsmanship. You can also receive an insight in to what happens behind the sewing machine!

A stylish collection for our little ones which is similar in colour is the "Me in Wien" fashion line, designed by Maria and Esther in their mini atelier in Vienna’s 2nd district.  They have also been presenting their beautiful children's fashion in second store in the 7th district for a few weeks now. Sustainability and fair trade are close to both of their hearts, they do their own screen printing and their designs are cheeky, funny, unisex and “oversized”. Suitable therefore for all 4 seasons!

As a child Doris Bittermann already sewed doll dresses by hand, later to be followed by her first ball gown. Today she spoils us with an exciting cocktail of tradition and finest workmanship. Her clothes can be worn by all generations. The front and the back can also often be deliberately swapped round to give the dress a new twist. She likes to break up her minimalistic cuts with unusual material and colour combinations.

A very special Viennese jewellery label for me is the MY MAGPIE Vienna collection by the industrial designer Stefanie Klausegger. Her pieces of jewellery are a combination of the aesthetics of Viennese Modernism, innovative production using 3D printing and a high level of wearing comfort. Architectural elements from Otto Wagner as well as Viennese Art Nouveau designs from Kolo Moser and Josef Hoffmann serve as a source of inspiration. Her latest model is “Ver Sacrum” which is reminiscent of the golden leafed dome of the Vienna Secession building.

My favourite accessories are all from "Said the Fox". Reduced to clear, geometric shapes, primarily in black and white and also inspired by Josef Hoffmann. For Alexandra Pecher, too, the handling of the resources, regional craftsmanship and sustainability are very important in the production. She therefore processes only certified cotton as well as original loden material from Schladming and has them manufactured in a socially committed workshop. In addition to travel kits there are also cosmetic bags, pouches, tissue boxes and cool sleep masks.

A very special experience is a visit to the Nuriel Molcho’s atelier situated directly on the Naschmarkt. A nomad himself, he has lovingly decorated the shelves with numerous old tools for making 19th century hats which he has found at flea markets or older hat makers.  Complemented by hat boxes and various hat models. He himself manufactures tailor-made hats from high-quality beaver felt, which he shapes, dries, stiffens and decorates with the perfect details according to the rules of old craftsmanship. Completely individual for each wearer.

Christiane Wery also offers a great insight into her craft in her small textile workshop in the 2nd district. Specialized in the stencil screen printing of home accessories, she creates 3 - 4 new designs per year which she then uses for various product categories in a variety of colours. In her workshop you will find mainly cushions, fabric baskets in various sizes, cosmetic bags in different shapes, tea towels but also large XL bags.
