All of the sights are right on our doorstep, for you to discover at your own pace. You can either use the excellent public transport network to reach the city centre in a matter of minutes or set out on foot for a leisurely stroll.

City of Salzburg

Salzburg has something to suit every taste, and the historic old town is still steeped in the charm of a bygone era. Mozart’s birthplace and Salzburg cathedral will cast a spell on you. Imagine what life must have been like for an 18th century aristocrat as you take a walk among the trees in the shaded grounds of Schloss Mirabell. There are breathtaking views of Salzburg to be enjoyed from the Mönchsberg and Kapuzinerberg hills.

And if you want to leave the city behind, then Schloss Hellbrunn with its idyllic fountains is like balsam for the soul. This 400-year-old architectural gem has always been prized as a retreat – and its caves, fountains and water features never fail to impress visitors.

Route A - for Beginners

3 km (approx. 20 min)
A short running route with lots to see: Ferdinand-Porsche-Straße – Elisabethstraße – Saint-Julien-Straße – Lehener Bridge – Salzach – Müllner Church – Müllner Steg – Congress Center

 

Via Ferdinand-Porsche-Straße to Elisabethstraße and on to Saint-Julien-Straße. Over the Lehener Bridge and along the Salzach at Franz-Josef-Kai, overlooking the old town / fortress. Past the late gothic Müllner Church, the Kurhaus and the Salzburg Congress Center. Continue on Rainerstraße and Plainstraße. Back to the hotel via Elisabethstraße / Ferdinand-Porsche-Straße.

Route B - Easy jogging

4.6 km (approx. 31 min)
Easy jogging along the Salzach: Ferdinand-Porsche-Straße – Josef-Mayburger-Kai – Pioniersteg – Salzach – Lehener Park – Müllner Church – Staatsbrücke

 

Via Ferdinand-Porsche-Straße to Stauffenstraße. In the direction of Salzach to the Josef-Mayburger-Kai. Over the Pioniersteg along the Salzach, past the Lehener Park and the late gothic Müllner church on the Franz-Josef-Kai towards the old town with a wonderful view of the Salzburg fortress. Cross one of the three central bridges over the Salzach - the Staatsbrücke, which connects the city hall with the Linzer Gasse Platzl. Back along the Salzach over the Elisabethkai to the Mertensstraße via the Elisabethstraße / Ferdinand-Porsche-Straße back to the hotel.

Route C - Training with Sightseeing

6.7 km (approx. 46 min)
Running training on a varied route: Ferdinand-Porsche-Straße – pilgrimage basilica Maria Plain – Traklsteg – Lehener Park – Müllner Church – Staatsbrücke – City Hall

 

Via Ferdinand-Porsche-Straße to Stauffenstraße. In the direction of Salzach to the Josef-Mayburger-Kai, along the Salzach (out of town) with a marvelous view of the pilgrimage basilica Maria Plain. Over the Traklsteg towards the city along the Salzach past Lehener Park as well as the late gothic Müllner Church on Franz-Josef-Kai in the direction of the old town with a magnificent view of the Salzburg fortress. Cross one of the three central bridges over the Salzach - the Staatsbrücke, which connects the city hall with the Linzer Gasse Platzl. Back along the Salzach over the Elisabethkai to the Mertensstraße. Back to the hotel via Elisabethstraße / Ferdinand-Porsche-Straße.
