During Advent there’s nothing like a mug of hot punch with the smell of Christmas biscuits in the air! If you are fed up with the hustle and bustle of the Advent markets which you find in the large cities, you should go to Innsbruck as soon as possible. Because local traditions and a sense of home are still very important here! The Tyrolean markets in particular are characterised by their regional and traditional flair. You can sample punch and mulled wine to the sounds of the fanfares from the “Little Golden Roof”, smell the seductive scent of almonds and admire the Christmas tree decorations, handicrafts and woollen goods.
When you hear the sound of the wooden xylophone and the crank drill is put into use, then you know that Advent in Linz has arrived. The wooden experience area or the wooden nativity scene are just as unique here as the arrangement of the market stalls on the main square, where you will surely want to spend some time. A visit is always worthwhile.
