The absolute best time to visit Salzburg is right now! Because once the Salzburg Festival is finished, the city starts to calm down and you can relax and explore the narrow streets and hidden courtyards of the old town. It almost feels like you have the city a little more to yourselves - and that's a good thing. Because the famous Indian summer with its warm temperatures and special light is approaching, a time when Salzburg shows itself from its most magnificent side. Therefore why not go up the Gaisberg, one of the city’s local mountains, and look over Salzburg at sunset? - that is so beautiful that even the locals are lost for words. If you prefer a little more action, you can get a small rush of adrenaline on the summer toboggan run on the Dürrnberg! For all culinary fans, a visit to the Salzburg “Schranne” market every Thursday is a must! The fruit and vegetable stands are overflowing when there is more choice than at any other time of year.

Here there really is something for everyone, whether sport, enjoyment or romance - Salzburg is beautiful in every season, but right now even a little bit more so than usual. J
