Ljubljana – a grey city on the banks of the Ljubljanica. That’s what it used to be. Today the city is alive and dancing. Its inhabitants are young and original artists’ ateliers and lively cafés have found their place in the city. Either in the artistic district of Metelkova or on the banks of the river in the historic heart of the city. There are corners of the city which are reminiscent of Berlin’s trendy Kreuzberg. Restaurants which you would rather expect to find in New York.
To put it briefly: Ljubljana is charming, creative, full of life. If you want to know which places and secret insider tips you shouldn’t miss out on during your weekend trip - we tell you here!
Ljubljana is a university city. And accordingly young. Particularly in the last few years lots of new creative spots have emerged. Original cafés and trendy bars. Art spaces and galleries, which you will not find in every tourist guide. However they are definitely worth a visit.
Ljubljana is ideal for adults. And for children. They can taste new dishes at the markets, climb up to the medieval fortress or conquer the waters of the city. And everything ideally outdoors.
Creative and regional: the country of Slovenia can be found in many cooking pots and shops. The focus on regional produce is stronger here than in other European cities. For example in these four locations.
